Psychology@thecoast is a service in North Tyneside, designed to provide mindfulness & compassion courses for groups or individuals, and occupational health consultancy. I am Anna, I studied to become a Counselling Psychologist and worked in the NHS for 10 years as a Psychologist/Counsellor and Supervisor, and gained a sound understanding of pain management and a compassionate approach to symptoms which cannot be explained within the medical model alone. Now I work as a trainer, facilitator, and supervisor.
Having been trained in individual and family therapy and applied Personality Psychology, I facilitated many training and education sessions in organisations from an Occupational Health perspective: Workshops and courses about personal effectiveness, how to deal with trauma at work, team-building and team analysis and coaching for managers were the focus of my work. Health psychology in all its facets and work related problems are particular concerns of mine and so are experiences of trauma, depression and anxiety and how to manage these in a work situation.
Moving and living in the UK has taught me a lot about trust, friendships, and compassion. Since starting practicing mindfulness in 2010 and later self-compassion I have personally found this very beneficial and nourishing. As a mindfulness teacher my ability for patience, reflection and integrity have improved and softened. I like to create a compassionate space for each person to be. People feel therefore they can benefit from my listening skills in a safe group space when recovering, discovering and becoming who you already are.

I adhere to the UK Network for Mindfulness-Based Teachers Good practice guidelines for teaching mindfulness-based courses. I also adhere to professional guidelines including: the British Psychological Society (BPS) Generic Professional Practice Guidelines, and the BPS Code of Ethics and Conduct.
